Monthly Backdrop Contest

Here's a chance to share your artistic and graphic design skills with the world, and be recognized for your work!

Design a cool backdrop image (like the one above) and submit it to the Astral Awards.  Each month's submissions will be reviewed by our Staff and the best one will be chosen for display on this website as the backdrop for the next month!   Additionally, the artist's name and website link (if applicable) will be posted on our Home page!

But before you begin drawing, here are a couple of guidelines...

1. The dimensions of the submitted image must be at least 1200 x 300 pixels.

2. The submitted image must be in GIF, TIFF, Bitmap, or other uncompressed format.   Please do not submit the image as a JPG or JPEG.

3. The image must be dark enough so as to not interfere with the textual content of this website.

4. Helpful hint: Images that reflect an "astral" theme (ie. contains stars) are highly encouraged!

And finally, before you submit your image for consideration, here is some fine print...

The submitted image remains the property of the artist, however the artist gives the Astral Awards permission to use the image as a backdrop on this website at any time in perpetuity.  Multiple submissions are allowed.

Additionally, the artist gives the Astral Awards permission to modify the image in any way in order for it to blend with the over all style and mood of this website.

To enter, simply attach your image to an email and send it to along with your name, the image title, your website URL (if you have one), and your country of residence.  Please put 'Backdrop Submission' in the subject line of the email.
